Lonny E. Bennett
80, of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife Kay; children, Dale (Christy), and Beth (Jeff) Mauk; mother, Mildred Bennett; daughter in law, Carol Bennett; grandchildren, Angela (Chris) Sellers, Alisha (Frank) Gonzalez, David Bennett, Brian Bennett, Amber Bennett, Josh (Lauren) Mauk, Abigail Mauk, Cody (Amber) Bennett, Wendy (Kelly) Kirk, Megan (Mike) Cavell and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore; son, David and grandson, Jeremiah Mauk.
Lonny was retired after 36 years with Indiana Bell (Ameritech), a job he really enjoyed. He also loved flying and held a pilot’s license for years. Lonny was very intelligent and a very well-rounded handyman. There was nothing he could not fix or repair from a car to any appliance in the house, plus wiring, cement, windows… He passed these talents to his two sons and many to his daughter as well. He was well respected by anyone who knew him and loved by his family for his steadfastness and strength. He will be deeply missed by all. Lonny served in the US Army.
Cremation will precede Visitation, Saturday September 21, from 2-6, concluding with Funeral Services at 6PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family. www.sheetsfuneral.com
