Thomas R. Lasher (Tom)
68 yrs old, of Gainesboro, TN, formerly of Lowell, IN was called to rest after his battle with cancer.
Born on September 22, 1949 and past on August 22, 2018
Tom was survived by his two daughters, Wendy Lasher, of Orlando, FL and Tammy (Brad) Mooney, of Dix, IL; sister, Jo-Anne Engelke, Midlothian, IL; Girlfriend, Carolyn Smith, Cookeville, TN.
Preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Lasher, and mother, Florence A. Lasher; brother, Darrell Schofro; sister, Jean Manrique.
Tom was raised in Chicago, where he met and married Sue Norton and started his family, he moved them to the country of small town Lowell, Indiana. He spent his life working as a pipefitter out of Local 597. He was a genius when it came to building things, he was avid in energy efficiency and built a 85’ tall windmill to help overt the increasing expenses of power. He also designed, with the help of his daughter Tammy, they built a boiler to heat their home. Tom and his motorcycle went hand in hand, he was a member of the GWRRA and GWTA as Director of Safety for many years putting thousands of miles traveling the country. Gardening was one of Toms many hobbies, after his girls were grown he and Sue divorced, he eventually retired and moved to the mountains in Tennessee where he opened a greenhouse to sell produce from with great help from his special friend Carolyn. He will forever be in our heart, may he Rest In Peace.
