Alan Matthias

65, of Lowell, IN passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara; sons, Nicholas, Matthew and Michael Matthias; grandson, James Matthias; father, Richard Denton; siblings, Kevin Matthias and Kim Holt; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom, Shirley Denton; siblings, Sheila, Richard and Ray Denton. Alan graduated from Momence High School and Wyoming Tech in Laramie, Wyoming where he obtained his Automotive Mechanics certifications. He went on to work as a mechanic for 40 years and retired as an IBEW union mechanic in 2020. Alan enjoyed playing and watching golf and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and White Sox. He also coached his sons’ little league baseball, basketball and soccer teams.

Private Cremation was entrusted to Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lowell, IN. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
