Barbara Heacock Obituary

Barbara Jean Heacock
Beloved Partner, Mother, Meemaw, Sister, Aunt, and Friend

Barbara Jean Heacock, 76, passed away peacefully at home during the early morning hours of Friday, January 23rd. She was the heart of her family; a loving mother, a treasured Meemaw, and a faithful friend whose kindness touched countless lives.  Jean had an extraordinary way of loving others. She gave freely of her time, her strength, and her heart, always placing the needs of others before her own. If someone was hurting or in need, Jean was there offering comfort, prayer, and unwavering support.  Her faith was deeply woven into every part of her life. Jean loved the Lord and lived her faith openly, sharing God’s Word through her encouragement, her prayers, and the way she loved people. Through life’s hardest seasons, she remained strong and trusting, relying fully on God’s grace and promises.

Barbara Jean was deeply loved and survived by her partner, James Murnane; her children, James Murnane (Judy), Tracey Van Kley (Mike), and Jeanette Keselica (Mike); her eleven grandchildren, Michael Van Kley (Allison), Amber Papineau (Kurtis), Ariel Beamish, Kyle Murnane, Gabriel Murnane, Cassidy Murnane, Michelle Castellanos (Mark), Melody Beamish, Nicholas VanKley, Karson Keselica, and Nathan Keselica; and her four great-grandchildren, Delilah Papineau, Colton Van Kley, Jack Papineau, and Everly Van Kley. Beloved sister of Sharon Dreyer and Ronald Neal; and several nieces and nephews.  She was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Heacock; her precious daughter, Sharon Beamish; her parents, Carol and John Neal; her brothers, John and Fred Neal; and her sister, Linda Whalen.

Jean had a servant’s heart and lived each day with compassion and humility. She gave freely of herself, always ready to help and always placing others before her own needs. If someone was hurting or in need, Jean was there offering encouragement, prayer, and unconditional love. Her kindness was quiet but powerful, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she touched.  To know Jean was to know Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she shared God’s love not only through her words but through her actions. She lovingly encouraged others through scripture and prayer, guiding family and friends toward faith and hope. Even in the most difficult seasons of life, Jean remained steadfast, trusting the Lord completely and standing strong in His promises.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
Jean lived her faith with love and generosity, and her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched.
