89, of Lowell, IN, passed away Wednesday July 12, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Glen Shanks, and was the daughter of Walker and Pearl (Goss) Smith of West Virginia, also preceding her in death. 

She is survived by her children, Alan (Cindy) Shanks and Anna (Mike) Holding; grandchildren, Timothy (Leah) Holding, Rebecca (Stephen) Hollander, Jonathan (Brittany Medley, Fiancée) Holding, Jessica (Denny) Nail, Courtney (Michael) Diescher; great grandchildren, Andrew, Zoey and Emmilyn Holding, Benjamin and Emily Hollander, Anthony Matthews, Rylee Nail and Lexi Shanks; siblings, Robert Lee Smith, Margaret Smith Bello, Helen Smith Steves, Patricia Smith Miles, Diana Smith Pompie, Roger Dean Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
