Carrie Murzyn

45, of Cedar Lake, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday October 12, 2021.  She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ryan; a wonderful mother to her daughter Jayece Sharples, who she loved more than life and Ryan’s daughters, Jilly, Kenny and Addy; parents, Betty (Dan) Reed and Bill Armstrong; brother, Keith Armstrong.  She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.

Carrie was a 1994 graduate of Lowell High School and went on to become a Stylist, working at Downtown Hair Studio, Lowell for several years before Owning and Operating, Do & Dye at Elevation Salon in Crown Point.  She has been making her clients (most of whom have become lifelong friends) beautiful with her amazing talent for years, one client said she was literally the coolest hairstylist on the entire planet. She was everyone's Rockstar! Their own personal Hair Queen for sure.

Carrie was an incredibly beautiful unique soul, with an amazing zest for life and love, she truly showed that in everything she did and with every life she has touched.  If you got the chance to know her, you knew of her incredible snorty laugh with a smile that just drew you in forever, once heard it was never forgotten.  Carrie has left such a positive impact on the lives of so many. We know this by the measure of unbelievable sorrow she has left behind.

Carrie had such strength in her beliefs including helping for years with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, shaving heads for childhood cancers, shaving her own hair this past year, also helping her daughters 12 yr. old friend do the same, raising money for her small niece who lost her life to cancer.

Her family asks that In lieu of flowers, contributions be given to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
