Cathy’s early life started in her father’s homeland of the Bahamas and eventually moved to Lowell, IN where she was raised and educated. She was part of the Lowell High School Class of 1982 and took joy in being the class president. She continued her education at Indiana University, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. Cathy spent her time as a young adult enjoying music and dancing, which led her to meeting her husband Steven “Steve” Babusch. They married on September 30, 1989. Early in their marriage, they lived in West Lafayette near Cathy’s aunt, Theresa (Michael) Foley. This is where Cathy had one son, Jacob L. Babusch. Later the young family moved back to Cathy’s hometown where she purchased her home.
Cathy was a wonderful homemaker and master gardener. She was known in the community for her beautiful gardens that sprawled much of her property. Cathy was very involved in her family's activities, she volunteered at the little league baseball fields where her son played and the local fire department on the ladies auxiliary. Cathy enjoyed all things Halloween. Many will remember her by her thrilling Halloween parties and love for scary TV shows and Stephen King books. She passed this love of Halloween onto her son and grandchildren, who will remember all the spooky decorations she collected.
Later in life, Cathy continued her career in early education where she met the Bennett Family. Who became close family friends. She retired in 2018 where she got to enjoy spending time with her grandchildren. Cathy could be described as very lively, her humor and wit was unmatched.
