David Durham
70, of Schneider, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter Amy (Terence) Stokes of Lebanon, IN; daughter in law, Jennifer Symons of Lake Village; grandchildren, Garren and Raeya Stokes; Tyler Clinton, Connor and Addison Symons; siblings, Frank, and Tim (Julie).
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Symons; parents, Carl, Sr. and Mary; siblings, Carl, Jack, Mike, Joe and Raymond Durham and Cecilia Neeley.
Dave was a retired Bridge Foreman with the Lake County Highway Dept, where he plowed snow for the majority of his time there. He had been a longtime Schneider Lions Club member and had also served on the Town Board. He enjoyed gardening and attending any and all of the grand kid’s events. Known as the “Mayor of Schneider” and most recently, “The Bread Man” for his weekly donations of bread to not only the Lake Village Food Pantry, but to any individual in need. You could always find Dave lending a helping hand to anyone, for any type of project.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13 from 11-2, Concluding with Funeral Services at 2 PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell. Burial will follow in Lake Village Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the Lake Village Presbyterian Church.
