75, of Lowell, IN passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marta; children, Tammy (Peter) Martin, Sherry (Christopher) Ortell, Susan (Corey) Cunningham; grandchildren, Colton, Jacob (Ally), Kurtis (Brea), Brittany, Paige, Cameron (Brittney), Colin (Kayla), Brooke (Grant); great grandchildren, Addyson, Josclynn, Abigail, Amelia, Charlie, Malcolm, Naomi, Grayden; brother, Paul (Sue); numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; parents, Harold and Gloria; infant brother, Gary. Dennis retired from South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL after more than 35 years as a mechanical engineer. He was an Army Vietnam veteran and was awarded 3 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for Valor; he is also a member of the Lowell VFW Post 6841. Dennis loved motorcycles, hot rods, enjoyed watching classic monster movies and drinking a Diet Pepsi. Above all he loved his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather “PeePaw”. Visitation, Tuesday, January 27th from 10AM-1PM with Funeral Service following at 1PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell, IN 46356. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
