Dolores and Thomas Callahan

Dolores, 93, of Lowell, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, and her husband Thomas, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 in Florida where he had made his home for many years.  Tom was cared for by Ruth and Debbie, and they survive him. 

Dolores is survived by a brother, Frank Paunicka and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Therese Paunicka; siblings, Louis, Wendall, Joseph, Therese Sabol, Mary Szafranski and Justine Mulesa. 

Dolores had been an active member of Lowell’s St. Edward Catholic Church participating in the Rosary Sodality, Daughters of Isabella and the Choir.  She worked as a Secretary in the Insurance Dept. of First Federal of Gary Savings and Loan for over 25 years.   

Visitation for Dolores and Tom, Sunday October 8 from 2-6 at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell, with Dolores' Funeral Mass Monday, 11 AM at her church.  Burial will follow in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to St. Edward Church Building Fund.
