Dr. Ellen M. Bowers

Ellen was born on 1-1-1926 and passed away on 7-4-2026.  Those two days seem to describe her perfectly.  She loved to celebrate life, and it is fitting the she entered this world on New Years Day and departed on the Fourth of July- two days that will forever be marked by joy, hope, family, and celebration.

A resident of Lowell, Indiana, Ellen lived an extraordinary life, learning, teaching, traveling, and just living to the remarkable age of 100 years.

She was the widow of Bill Stevenson. She will be remembered by her daughter Theodora Smith, 4 grandchildren Christina Hindman, Teresa Gladfelter, Sabina Carder, and Julia Kolaks, and 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
