Edward Bradbury Obituary

Edward E. Bradbury was reunited in eternal life with beloved wife Elaine on Sunday, June 16, 2024, also joining his daughter, Crystal and son-in-law Ed Hall.

Survived by his son Rick; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jason, Jon, Paul, Kailey, and Cole; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Donald; sister,  Teresa and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born in Julesburg, Colorado to Edward & Myrtle Bradbury on Sept. 19, 1936 he was the oldest of the five Bradbury children.  The family relocated to northwest Indiana in 1938, eventually settling in West Creek.  Hard work wasn’t just a way of life but a passion, starting as a young boy he held numerous jobs such as a farmhand, mechanic, volunteer firefighter, U.S. Army, and sales associate at the Lowell Sears Roebuck Store.  Later joining Allstate Insurance where he became a top sales associate over his 40 year career until his retirement in 2001.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, Ed volunteered for the Lake Dale Fire Dept., St. Edward’s Knights of Columbus, and the Town of Lowell Chamber of Commerce.  For nearly 50 years he led the opening of the Lowell Labor Day parade with the American Legion Honor Guard holding U.S. flag.

Ed’s true love was his wife, Elaine, and the family they created over a nearly 60 year marriage.  They loved, laughed and danced their way through a life built on faith, family and friends leaving memories and stories that will be passed on for generations.  Ed was a consummate joker always sharing sage wisdom “Stay sober” “don’t take a wooden nickel” and was a true friend to neighbors, colleagues, or anyone in need of aid.
