Edwin R. Herz

84, of Lowell, IN went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was born May 22, 1938, the son of Donald and Nelda Odle-Herz of Lowell. He was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1956. Edwin married his high school sweetheart, Della Rose Cronkhite on May 21, 1960 at Rangeline Presbyterian Church in Hebron, IN. They would have been married 63 years next month.

He was blessed with his son, Donald Herz and daughter, Susan Lamb; son in law, Tom Lamb. His greatest joy was his granddaughters, Dr. Whitney (Chris) Purtzer and Katie (Matt) Housam; three great grandchildren, Austin and Allie Purtzer and Taegan Housam; his siblings, John (Edna) Herz, Ronald Herz, Rachel (Gene) Lagacy. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Melody Pearson.

Ed retired after 20 years in the Air Force in June 1976. He also retired from Reiter Industries in Lowell. He was a member of Lake Prairie Presbyterian Church of Lowell where he was an Elder and Treasurer for many years. Ed was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Cremation will precede Visitation, Monday, April 10th from 10AM-12PM, Memorial Service, 12PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell, IN. Burial will follow in West Creek Cemetery.  www.sheetsfuneral.com
