Frederick “Rick” Speichert
85, of Wheatfield, IN, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, March 31, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Karry (Cynthia) Speichert of Cedar Lake, Tracy (Timothy) Schwalm of Cedar Lake, Terry (Kimberly) Reno of Wheatfield and Rusty Merrills of Ogden Dunes; grandchildren, Alyssa; Kristan, Andrew, Adam and Danielle; Levi and Harli; Jordin; Duncan and Jacob; 7 great grandchildren; and a brother, Mark (Nancy). He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Irene; brother, Carl; and daughter Jerilynne D’Amico.
Rick owned and operated Ottosons Industries, with his family, in Cedar Lake and currently owned and operated Spikes Railhead in Lowell. He was a member of the Cedar Lake Lions Club and many train clubs, including Blackhawk and Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.
Visitation will be held Sunday April 6 from 2-5, Concluding with a Memorial Service at 5 PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell, IN.
