Gary Herbert Dandurand
68, of Lowell, IN, passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of Friday June 14, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Ronda; children, Nicholas of Noblesville, Anthony (Lauren) and Desiree (Scott), all of Portage; grandchildren, Scarlett, Oscar and Luke; and his brother, Danny of Ft. Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen.
He was not just a father, husband, brother, and grandfather; he was the cornerstone of his family, illuminating our lives with his unwavering dedication and affection.
Whether he was spending time with his family, cheering on his Chicago Bears, or feeling the adrenaline rush of a NASCAR race, his enthusiasm was infectious, spreading warmth and joy to all those around him, unless the Bears were losing, which, let’s be honest, is often.
Perhaps Dad’s most enduring legacy lies in the very ground beneath our feet. For over 40 years he paved and rebuilt almost every major road and highway in Northwest Indiana, most of them more than once. When you drive down 65, 80/94 or on 30, think of him and smile. He loved what he did and was a retired Foreman with Walsh and Co.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 20, from 4-8 with Funeral Services Friday at 1130 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens
