Gerald Kretz

73, of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Nina (Ray Bougher) Kretz, Melissa (John) Lewis, Dawn Kretz, Tom (Michelle), all of Lowell and Carrie (Ryan) Dahl of Crown Point; grandchildren, Rhees, Alex and Hannah; Tyler and Mitchell; Olivia and Masen; Jenna; Porter and Adalyn; siblings, Robert (Carol) Kretz of Demotte, Vernon “Butch” Kretz of Crown Point and Janet Greer, of Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva; sisters, Carolyn Batcheller and Barbara Miracle.

Gerald was President of Lake Co. CO-OP and a past member of St. Edward Catholic Church.  He had a love for classic cars, his cows and his dog, Dozer.  He was a lifelong Farmer, whose life was centered around family and farming. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30 from 3-7, with Funeral Services Thursday, 11 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery. 

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
