James M. Cassoday

84, of Lansing, IL passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023.  He is survived by daughters, Terri (Gary) Hulsey of CO, Audrey Rothgeb of Fowler, Leanna Cartwright of Merrillville and Judy (John) Hartsough of Fowler; grandchildren, Craig, Adam, Matt, Elliot, Amanda, Luke, Cole, and great grandchildren Shepard and Alice.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; and his longtime special friend Betty Kerns. 

James was 1 of 13 children.  He was a Chef, working for Teibel’s and Mr. Kenny’s Restaurants and Munster Community Hospital.  He enjoyed cooking so much that in his retirement he cooked for Meals on Wheels in Lansing. 

Visitation Friday, March 24 from 11-1, Concluding with Funeral Services at 1 PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.  Burial will follow in Lowell Memorial Cemetery.
