Janice Davidson Obituary

Janice A. Davidson

65, of Lowell, IN, passed away at home peacefully, Friday September 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her children, Kenny of Frankfort, IN and Lisa (Kent) Jean of Kokomo; grandchildren, Gage, Collin, Natalie, Lily, Porcha, Abel; great grandchildren, Xavier, Xayden and Xander Davidson; siblings, April Larson of Lowell, Lindy (Janelle) Dooge of TX, and Chuck (Cindy) Dooge of Demotte; sister-in-law, Diane Dooge of FL; special friends, Tommy and Nancy Davidson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerry and Dorothy Dooge and her brother, Neil.

Janice started her working career in their family Auto Body business where she handled the accounting.  Being Janice, she also became skilled with the “hands on” aspects of body work.  If you wanted your windows tinted, that’s who you wanted to do it.  Her attention to detail was stellar.  “She was the hardest worker there and did it with a smile”, shared a male co-worker.  She moved on to working in 24-hour gas stations where she was in her element, people.  She loved her customers, and they loved her.  While this was good for business and earned her an offer of Manager, she turned it down to avoid losing connections with her customers.

Her greatest joy were her grandkids, to whom she was Mimi.  She brought the magic and was fun, a fixer of all things and full of fun surprises.  In this role she found love at its purest.  To her children’s friends, she was a second mom and her enthusiasm spread to her love of the Colts, live music concerts, the beach, babies, dogs and of course, chocolate!

Her legacy is her grandchildren and the impact she had on those she met.  Janice will be remembered for her genuine sweetness, generosity, kindness and crazy contagious laugh.  She will be missed and not forgotten.

If we follow her lead, we’ll all see her smiling face again.
