Joan Lucas-Black
94, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026. She is survived by her children, Terri (Ron) Cummins of Hammond, Pamela Barham of TN, Nancy (Raymond) Marsh of Lowell, Timothy (Michele) Lucas and James (Linda) Lucas, both of Demotte, and Daniel (Deanne) Lucas of Hebron; over 70 grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry (Dorrane) Julian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lucas, and husband, Howard Black; brothers, Paul and Parker Julian
Joan was a member of Lowell Church of Christ. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, who played for her church, Brook and Griffith Christian Churches, and Crown Point Christian Village. She also participated in the Church Choirs of Lowell and Griffith and taught at their Youth Groups and Sunday School. Joan was a volunteer and Activity Director with Lowell Health Care, as well as a volunteer for St. Anthony Hospice and Medical Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, from 3-7, with Funeral Services Friday, at 11 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial Contributions may be given to her church.
