Joan “Granny” Napiwocki
83, of Lowell, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She is survived by her children, who she was a loving and supportive mother to, John (David) Fortener, Lisa (William) Paul, Michael (Christine) Fortener, Suzanne (David) Wartsbaugh, Charlie (Lorel) Napiwocki and Jeff (Tami) Napiwocki; grandchildren, who brought her immense joy, Nicholas Paul, Emily Wartsbaugh, Nathan Napiwocki, Katlyn (Noah) Meyer, Hailey Fortener, Sidney, Amber and Luke Napiwocki, and Mike Fortener; sister, Linda Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; siblings, LeRoy, Deloris and Marilyn; and her parents.
Born in South Chicago to Hazel and Ernest Thompson. She was known for her warmth, kindness and strength. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Her care is entrusted to Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.
The family requests Memorial Contributions be made to William J. Riley memorial Residence, Hospice of the Calumet Area, to which the family will be forever grateful to for the care that was given to Granny.
