John Corning
75, of Shelby, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia (Clinton); children Allan (Diana), and Denise (Patrick) Gottschalk; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; siblings Kate (Robert) Schaefer, Don (Jackie) Corning, brother-in-law Philip Spitler, sister-in-law Carol Corning. Preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Laura; siblings, Ray, Robert, Roger, Patricia Roadruck, and Sharon Spitler. John retired from Reiter Automotive and enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and spending the winter months in Florida with his wife and snowbird friends from all over the country. In John’s earlier years, he was an active member of the Shelby Lions Club, the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department, and was chairman for the St Jude Bike-A-Thon. Cremation will precede Visitation on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 5pm-7pm, Concluding with Memorial Services at 7pm, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
