Judy Abernathy

71, of Morocco and formerly Black Oak, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023.  She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Bill) Moore-Scheidt of Morocco and Eydie (Dexter Herron) Gains of Lake Station; mother, Nancy Gresham of Crown Point; grandchildren, Daniel (D’anna) and Dustin (Taylor) Hoover; Tiffanie (Tyler), Kody (Char) and Kyle (Hannah) Hamilton; great grandchildren, Myleigh, DJ, Hunter, Tyke, Liam, Damian and Aria; her siblings, Kathy Summers of Merrillville and Raymond Jones of Gary; several nephews, extended family and her dog, Minnie.

She was preceded in death by her father, James (Martha) Jones; granddaughter, Nikki Hamilton; brother in law, Stan Summers; and sister in law, Cathy Jones.

Judy had worked in nursing homes caring for the elderly, most recently at Crown Point Christian Village.  She loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with them, and was an animal lover. 

Private Cremation will take place through Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given directly to her family.
