Katherine (Kasparian) Hadders
100, of Poway, CA, a former long-time resident of Lowell, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024. She is survived by her son Dennis (Teresa) Hadders and daughter Karen (David) Brainard; three grandchildren: Jonathan (Sarah) Hadders, Elizabeth (Steven) Lombardi, and Daniel (Lyndsay) Brainard; and six great-grandchildren: Noah and Autumn Hadders, and Luke, Rocco, Jesse and Geno Lombardi; sister, Mary Kay (Bob) Broe. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents Michael and Mary Kasparian; siblings Abraham, Ronald, Nickola, Sr., Arman and Arthur Kasparian, and Hersilia Hooley; brother-in-law Clifford Sr. Hooley and sister-in-law Cleone Kasparian; and granddaughter Emily Brainard. Katherine was born August 12, 1923, in Gary, and with her family moved to Shelby in 1937, and then to Lowell in 1942, the same year she graduated from Lowell High School. After working for years at Sears in Lowell, Katherine became the manager of the Lowell License Branch (BMV) and then retired in the mid-1980s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lowell and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Katherine enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and spending time with family. In 2008, she and Arthur moved to California to be near their daughter in Poway and closer to their son in Colorado. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN, with Pastor Mark Berg officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Prairie Cemetery in Lowell. www.sheetsfuneral.com
