With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth James Jones, 98, of Lowell, Indiana, a man whose kindness, integrity, and unshakable optimism touched everyone who knew him. Ken regularly reminded us that, “Every day is a great day, some are just better than others,” a reflection of his positive outlook on life. Ken was so much fun to be around. He had a quick wit and playful sense of humor, always regaling us with a funny story, or a clever quip.
Ken loved working with the public, and even in retirement, he cherished the moments spent with his friends and devoted family. He was not just a husband, father, and grandfather—he was a pillar of strength and love in our lives. We love him more than words can say and will miss him everyday.
He is survived by his wife, June; daughter Karen (Tom) Delfino and grandchildren Megan and Lara; daughter in law Lori Jones and grandchildren Lindsay and Jake, great grandchild, Addie Bohney. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike; and siblings Marjorie Warne, Eleanor Brello and Mell Jones.
Ken was a 1944 Lowell High School graduate and a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Lowell American Legion, Post #101, Masonic Colfax Blue Lodge in Lowell, where he served as Past Master, and Lowell Church of Christ. His family were owners of Warne and Jones Super Foods. Ken served as President of both Lowell National Bank and Indiana National Bank before his retirement.
