Kimberly Newlin

60, of Lowell, IN, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025. She is survived by her devoted husband William; her loving daughters, Katie and Kristen; as well as her kitties Nebula, Nova, and Aurora; sisters Kelly (Barry) Miller and Karen (Victor) Perez; as well as nieces and nephews Victor Jr., Christina, Brooke, Joey, Amy, Luke, and Kristina. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Barbara Krupa.

Kim graduated from IU Northwest and became a nurse. She spent some time in home health before she found her true passion- school nursing. Kim worked first at Oak Hill Elementary then Lowell Middle School for a combined 17 years. She loved being a school nurse and serving the students of Lowell.

Kim was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Lowell. She was the director of Vacation Bible School for many years, when she would transform the church into an undersea wonderland or an Egyptian marketplace. She also spearheaded a tween crock pot cooking class to further serve the kids of Lowell.

Kim was an excellent cook, and loved spending time cooking with her family. She enjoyed gardening; crafting and being creative; and she was active in her daughters’ lives as a Girl Scout leader, a Theatre Booster, a member of the PTA, and so much more. Her home was always open to the friends of her children and she was always ready with a listening ear and a helping hand for anyone who needed it.

Kim lived her life in service to others and touched many lives with her compassion and open heart. Kim’s family was everything to her and they will miss her very dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held at her Church, 520 E. Commercial Ave. in Lowell. Services entrusted to Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lowell. 

Memorial Contributions may be given to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or American Kidney Fund.
