Mary Darlene Carter nee Hernandez

60, of Greenup, IL, passed on to be with our Lord on Friday, July 24, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Alfredo and Martha Hernandez, siblings Sandra Pikula and Donald Nix. Survived by siblings, Jimmie Sue (Gerald) Farmer, Diane Schwartz, Teresa (Joe) Juarez and Dwayne (Maureen) Hernandez; many nieces and nephews.
She worked as a Deli Manager at the IGA grocery store in Greenup, Illinois. This is where she met so many wonderful people including her best friend, Leslie Williams, who was beside her throughout this entire journey.  She loved telling stories about all the great food she would make at the store.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that memorial contributions may be made to the hospice facility that took loving care of her in her final days - The William J. Riley Memorial Residence at 511 Otis Bowen Drive, Munster IN 46321-4158.
There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
