Melody Rose Brooks
81, of Lake Village, Indiana, passed away at her home with her loving family around her. She was born in Gary, Indiana to Edmond and Dorothy Collard. She was united in marriage to Charles "Stoney" Brooks in Lake Village, Indiana on May 3, 1958. Along with her husband, she is survived by five daughters Cynthia (Larry) Pearsall, Debra Brooks, Tammy (Floyd Bradley) Brooks, Brenda (Leonard Steele Jr.) Parman, Barbara (Thomas) Villandry; Grandchildren: Jeanette (Don Albrecht) Williamson, Mathew (Michelle) Williamson, Tyler Elschide, Natasha (David Waugh) Brooks, Kyle (Kim) Rench, Julie (Russell Erickson) Pepin, Christopher (Nicole) Davis, Whitney (Levi Voshell) Davis, Sarah George, Patrick Villandry, Nicholas Villandry, Christian Villandry, Patricia (Josh) Lindsey, William J. Elschide, and Barbara Elschide. Great Grandchildren: Benjamin Corliss, Finnegan Corliss, Elizabeth Corliss, Tristan Albrecht, Destiny Brooks, Kaylyn Brooks, Natalee McWhirter, Skylar Cadle, Emma Rench, Anson Davis, Jasper Wadsworth, James Doyle, and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; special Uncle Duaine Franklin, sister Mary Lou Coleman, brother Douglass Collard, sister-in-law Ann Collard; and numerous other sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edmond Collard and Dorothy Parks, siblings Carolyn (Dale) Wicks, Helen Marlatt, Ronald Collard, Donald (Rebecca) Collard, Leonard "Buddy" Parks, infant Patricia Parks, Dennis Collard, Diana Koppenhaver, Daniel Collard, Dean Collard, and Gerald Collard and sons-in-laws William C. Elschide and William "Chuck" Parman.
She loved her family and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and marbles, going to yard sales, cooking, sewing and quilting, and crocheting. Her CB Handle was Orange Blossom, and she had a FCC Radio License and Amateur Radio Association of Newton County, IN (ARANCI); Ham Radio KD9JWH.
