Merle ZumMallen

87, of Lowell, IN, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025.  He is survived by his stepson, Eric Alfredson; in laws, Tracy Alfredson and Larry Johnson; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; step children, Erling Alfredson and Terryl Johnson; siblings, Joanne Knapp and William; parents, Albert and Elese;

Merle was a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hebron and was a retired mechanic with Pleasant View Dairy. Merle was known to be a hardworking individual who was consistent to his routine. His favorite places were operating machinery on Kingdom Hall construction projects and riding his tractor in lawn maintenance. He will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity and sense of humor. He greeted everyone he met with a joke.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 21, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Concluding with a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m., all at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1199 S. Indiana Avenue, Crown Point, IN.  Arrangements entrusted to Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.
