Mr. Kim McCarty, Sr.

71, of Kentland, IN, passed away Sunday August 25, 2024.  He is survived by his children, Vicki (Jerry) Summers of Kentland and Steven (Rachel) Young of MS; grandchildren, Dakota Reed, Kimberlee and Skylar Hopper; Liam, Luka, Taylor and Alyssa Young; Matthew Welch and Emmie Madison; great grandchildren, Jason Reed and Vanny Pizarro; siblings, Nancy (Brian) James, Curt, Chris and Gary McCarty, all of southern IN.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; son, Kim Jr.; and his parents, Betty and Carl. 

Kim was a Vietnam POW US Marine Corps and member of the Roselawn American Legion. He was also the former owner of McCarty Landfill. 

Visitation, Thursday August 29, from 2-6, concluding with Military Honors at 6 PM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lowell, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be given to American Lung Association.
