Richard M. “Jake” Jacobson
61, passed away July 24, 2024, after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, Charlan “Charley”;
children, Randy (Candace), Christopher (Maggie), Abigail (Nick D.), Erinn (Jordan Nadolski), Cassie (Juan Burgos); grandchildren, Ryan, Jasmine, Dylan, William, Ethan, Bella, Blake, Zelda, Eivor, Makenna and great granddaughter, Alaska; siblings Dawn Uchman, Sherri Shirel, and Steven (Lori). He was preceded in death by sisters, Connie Recendez and Debbie Billens.
Jake was born on May 21, 1963, to Charles and Anita Jacobson, who preceded him in death. He traveled the world during his career as a United States Marine. During this time, he met the love of his life – Charlan Bailey Jacobson.
In addition to his devoted service to our country, Jake also served in the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for over 3 decades as a county correctional officer. His job helped keep every citizen of Lake County safe from harm – over countless days, nights, holidays, and weekends. He was a hero in every sense, to his family and many others. He was a Proud Marine, Corrections Officer, and Leaves Behind a Legacy of Service to Country, County, and Family. Jake gave his all to care for his family.
Visitation, Sunday July 28 from 2-6, with Funeral Services and Military Honors Monday, at 11 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.
