Rose M. Sinsabaugh

83, lifelong resident of Lake Village and Roselawn, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Winamac.  She is survived by her children, Roy (Nora) Cain, Jr. of Shelby, Mary (Randy) Potts of Rensselaer and Tina (Jim) Gildersleeve of AZ; daughter in law, Tina Rayner; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Louis Gundy and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cain, Sr. and husband, Loyd Sinsabaugh; sons, Randy and Tom Cain; parents, Ernest and Ethel Jones; brothers, Jimmy Baker, Clarence, Ernest and Ralph Jones; sisters, Helen Mauch, Agnes Garner, Martha Bolden Iliff, Violet Nelson and Marge Johnson Hampshire.

In her younger years, Rose worked in factories and restaurants, saying she was “the best cook they ever had,” all while raising 5 children.  She was a hard worker and never missed a birthday.  You could always count on a phone call with her singing Happy Birthday to you.  She loved her friends and family, with a special place in her heart for her grandkids.  She loved hearing stories of her great grandchildren and she really loved her orange “Sunkist” pop.

Visitation Thursday, March 16 from 4-8 with Funeral Services Friday, 11 AM all at

Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
