Sandra Lisa Branam
of Cedar Lake, IN passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at age 82 on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Sandra was born on November 19, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Rudy and Emily Johnson. Her parents, daughter Patricia Ann, son-in-law Joel Haynes, and siblings and their spouses: Rudy (Kathleen) Johnson, Robert (Carol) Johnson, Linda (Leonard) Losiniecki, stepdaughter Carrie Worthington, and Art McKenna preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; stepson Clayton Branam, sister Renee McKenna; children, Rhonda Haynes, Tammy (Mike) Couwenhoven and Wayne “Tiger” (Jodi) Scott; grandchildren, Laura (Jimmy) Graham, Michael (Blair) Couwenhoven, Amy (Saul Clift) Couwenhoven, Zachary (Alexa) Haynes, Chad Scott, Matthew Couwenhoven, Ashley Scott, Emily Scott, and Justin Branam; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandy worked for the town of Cedar Lake for several years, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Cedar Lake and very much enjoyed cooking, baking, ceramics, and gardening. Her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was immeasurable. She was a very giving friend, loved people and animals.
Visitation, Monday, April 22, from 10-12, Concluding with Funeral Services at 12 Noon, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell.
Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Crown Point.
