Sharon Miller Obituary

PLEASE NOTE UPDATED TIMES OF SERVICES

Sharon Lee (Whiteside) Miller

83, of Sheridan, IN and formerly of Lowell, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home with her husband at her side. She was born on May 15, 1939, to the late Wilvin and Freda (Nunn) Whiteside in Vincennes, Indiana. Sharon graduated from Crown Point High School, Class of 1957. After graduating high school that following year on November 4, 1958, she married the love of her life Charles E. Miller at the First United Methodist Church in Lowell. Charles and Sharon have spent 63 years at one another’s side.

Over the years Sharon worked different jobs but she loved serving and helping people. She, initially, was a stay-at-home Mom, as her family was priority. She performed the bookkeeping for rental properties and house renovations/flips Chuck did as a side job. She was a tax preparer for H&R Block for several years, teaching her daughter how to do her own taxes, and inspiring her son to earn his accounting degree. She worked as a cashier at Wilco Grocery Store, always smiling and helping customers and employees alike. She would later earn her real estate, broker license, and spend years helping people find just the right home.

When Sharon was not working, she could be found baking year-round, or canning her vegetables in the Summer. She was famous for her brownies and cookies, as well as her sour dill pickles. Sharon was an avid reader and over the years read several books. She loved to travel, her and Charles have gone on many adventures as long as warm weather was on the agenda. She always looked forward to playing cards with friends and family.

Her family was her greatest joy in life, especially her grandchildren. Sharon and Chuck taught their family many life lessons that have, and will continue to, contribute to their successes. Sharon leaves behind her husband Charles; their two children Jim (Julia) Miller and Michelle (Bob) Zigon. She was a loving grandmother to Danielle (Carter) Linville, AJ Miller, Eric Zigon, and his fiancé Sosy, and Christina Miller. She was a proud great-grandmother to Eve Michelle Linville. She was a beloved sister to Judy Whiteside Gentry and Carol Whiteside Caban and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Wilvin Whiteside Jr. in 2018 and her sister Patricia Brys in 2003.
