Shirley Ann Lechner
88, of Lowell, IN, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 at Crown Point Health Campus, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.
She leaves behind her loving family – daughter, Carla (George) Brewer of Lowell, son, Curt (Cherie) Lechner of Valparaiso; three beloved grandsons that she was immensely proud of, Kevin (Lisa) Heiser of Crown Point, Andrew Lechner of Valparaiso, Ryan (Kendall) Heiser of Fort Wayne; two great-granddaughters Ava and Sadie. Shirley also had numerous nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Welcoming her into heaven is her adoring husband of 43 years, Donald Lechner; daughters, Julie and Melissa; parents Floyd and Cleo Singleton; three sisters, Dorothy, Marion, and Phyllis O’Donnell; two brothers, Benjamin O’Donnell and Frank Singleton. At her feet, wagging their tails, are her pups Peanut and Max.
Shirley attended Olivet University and spent much of her life cooking at restaurants and working as a QMA at Wittenberg Village in Crown Point. Shirley was a Christian woman who was active in her church, The Open Door Church (Nazarene) in Lowell. She loved traveling while she was able. She enjoyed reading a lot! Sometimes 3-4 books a week. Her favorite tv show was “When Calls the Heart.”
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21 from 5-8, with Funeral Services Friday at 11 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell. Burial will follow in Lake Prairie Cemetery in Lowell.
