Steven Paul Babusch

61, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 9th, 2026. Steven was born on March 9,1965 in Chicago, IL to John and Patricia Babusch.

Steve was married to his best friend and love of his life for over 35 years Catherine (Cash) Babusch (September 30, 1989) and they had one son Jacob Babusch. He was a beloved husband, dad and grandfather to his three grandchildren Reid, Aniya and Nora.

Steve was a retried UAW member with Ford Motor Company where he worked for 25 years at the Chicago Assembly Plant.  Steve was also a retired member of the Lowell Volunteer Fire Department where he served for fifteen years holding the title of officer for several of those years and president of the board for a few of those years as well. He took great pride in being a firefighter and thoroughly enjoyed serving the community of Lowell.  Steve’s passion was his family, and sports. He was always putting his family first and ensuring they had everything they needed. Known for volunteer coaching his son’s little league teams through Lowell little league and a die-hard Chicago White Sox, Indianapolis Colts and Purdue University fan.

He will forever be remembered as being a provider, protector, hardworking, having a great sense of humor, and being a loving dad and the best grandpa.

Steven is survived by his son, Jacob Babusch, (Brandi Babusch) three grandchildren Reid, Aniya and Nora, two brothers Mike and Tommy along with several nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his father John Babusch, Mother Patricia Babusch and Wife Catherine Babusch (Cash).

Private Services at, Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lowell, will be held with Private Burial in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Lowell. 

Memorial Contributions may be given to the Lowell Volunteer Fire Department.
