Thomas (Tom) George Braun, 84, of Lowell, IN passed away on December 21, 2021 at his home with his wife, Barbara (Nowak) Braun by his side. Tom was born in Crandon, WI on November 27th, 1937, to Louis and Rose (Geisler) Braun. He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara; children Francis Braun of Indianapolis, Victoria (Eric) Finch of Cedar Lake, Richard Braun of Shelby, Sharon (Daniel) Marich of Demotte, Joseph Braun of Lowell, Mary (Andrew) Makinson, Matthew (Jessica) Braun of Chicago,IL; 27 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Rose Braun; daughter Ann Marie; brothers Anton and Phillip Braun; daughter-in-law Kelly Braun; in-laws Joseph and Ann Nowak.
Tom was a devout Catholic who loved attending and volunteering at St. Edward Catholic Church. He was a fan of westerns, (especially Gunsmoke), Bears football and John Deere tractors and could be found working in his garage or out in his gardens on his off time. Tom worked at International Mill Service. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed swimming, tennis, ice skating, playing checkers and eating Nutter Butters with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation, Sunday December 26, from 2-6PM at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lowell, with Funeral Mass Monday December 27, at 10AM, at St. Edward Church, Lowell. Burial will follow at St. Edward Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
