Thomas A Burton Jr.
77, of Lowell, IN passed away Monday, January 17, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Fauser); son, Eric (Rebecca); daughter, Rachelle (Ken) Blumenthal; grandchildren, Nicole (Rick) Hinton, Cody (Ashley) Heyden, Thomas (fiancé Jackie) Burton, Austin (fiancé Jacklyn) Blumenthal, Jason (Jessica) Blumenthal, Ashley (Shaun) Ely; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Louie) Greer, Peggy (Steve) Neumeier, Joyce (partner Dave) Heroux; sister-in-law Sharon (Greg) Johnston, brother-in-law, Jim (Merchie) Fauser; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Bob Roe. Preceded in death by parents Thomas A. Burton Sr. and Marjorie (Hettinger); brother-in-law, Rick Heroux. Tom graduated from Dyer Central in 1963. He went to work Simons Mattress Factory for 1 year. He then went into Local 150 Operating Engineers in construction for 25 years, mostly for Morrison Construction. He went to work for ANR-COSTAL Pipeline as their operator and foreman. He was also an officer for the Cedar Lake Boat Patrol for 2 years in the 70’s. Tom was a member of the Illiana Motorcycle Club for many years. The club put on ice races in the 70’s and he was a big part of that and also raced. He taught scuba diving for 2 years at Great Oaks, Cedar Lake. He was a part of Lake Co. Recovery for a short time and a member of the Masonic Lodge #378. Tom loved his family dearly and lived a full life.
