Wayne Robert Anderson
69 of LaPorte, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday morning, February 9, 2025.
Wayne was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He enlisted in the United States Navy at 17 in 1973 serving aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga CV60 during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Wayne went on to own and operate a local security rolling shutter and awning business serving the community as a businessman for over 25 years.
Wayne’s greatest joy in life were his 3 sons and 8 grandchildren. He was never lost for words on how proud he was of each of them. A constant presence in the stands whether it was swimming, football, baseball, basketball or track. Outside of work and family, Wayne was an avid fisherman, craftsman and enjoyed working on cars.
He is survived by his sons Dr. Stephen (Michelle) Anderson, Sean (Jaclyn) Anderson Esq and Chris (China) Anderson; grandchildren Corbin, Jadyn, Anna, Kaylee, Josiah, Carson, Ryder and Cameron; brother Michael Anderson and sisters Sue (David) Bratcher, Anna (Robert) Gonzalas, Barbara (Peter) Papageorgakis and Rachel (Michael) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Barbara Anderson, whom he will be laid to rest next to at Plum Grove Cemetery.
Visitation, Thursday February 13th from 4-8PM, Funeral Service Friday, 10 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell, IN 46356. Burial will follow in Plum Grove Cemetery.
