William “Mr. Bill” Shoemaker, Sr.
77, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He is survived by his children, Leslie (Allen) Stepansky of Evergreen Park, William Jr. (Shannon) of Bonfield, Matthew (Mary Carroll) of TN ; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Carol) of MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia; parents, Richard and Charlotte; and a brother Kenny.
Bill was a retired Pipefitter with Local #597, and continued working as a Custodian with Tri Creek School Corp. where he earned the “Mr. Bill” title. He was a member of Lowell Church of Christ, Lowell VFW post #6841 and former member of the Moose Lodge in Lowell. Bill was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. In his spare time he loved to do woodworking and gardening.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 4-7, with Funeral Services on Friday at 11 AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lowell. Burial will follow in Lowell Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be given to The Chicago Lighthouse, an organization serving the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities, or Wounded Warriors Project.
